The Spam Problem: Please Read

I know we have a spam issue right now; my minions and I are working on alleviating the problem.

Please do NOT click on ANY links whatsoever in spam messages, no matter how catchy the title may be. Besides being annoying, these links could be harmful to your computer.

How to recognize potential spam:

1) The user name. Does it make any sense? A string of seemingly nonsensical characters as a user name could indicate a spammer. Example: Evigneeneix. Does the user name contain a prescription medication? Example: Viagraaaa47723. These are good users to avoid.

2) The post. Does the post itself make any sense? If it has nothing to do with Worlds of Imagination but instead is focused on sex sites, especially with links and pictures, it could be spam. Example: "Cameron Diaz nude pics!!!" This is a recurring one in various forms. Avoid it. Do not click links OR pictures in these messages, as the photos themselves could be hotlinked and dangerous.

In general, spam seems to appear in the Off Topic forum on this board. I always delete it as soon as I can, so please don't be a victim during the hours I can't.
